At Kent Design Studio we are involved with a number of projects under the Permitted Development Class Q, whereby provided certain conditions are met, agricultural barns can be converted into residential dwellings.

 

This barn, which lies within Hawkenbury, near Staplehurst in Kent is just one of many which has been recently completed to a high standard by our client and a local building contractor.

 

The barn started life as a concrete framed ‘Atcost’ barn and Kent Design Studio was commissioned to gain prior approval under class Q and then take the project forward to be built.

 

Building Regulation and Tender Drawings were completed, and we also provided some on site assistance to the contractor to create a contemporary style home with double height spaces, galleried landing and lots of glazing looking out across the countryside.​
