A former shepherds hut at Stone in Oxney is a beautifully renovated traditional brick Lookers Hut surrounded by peaceful countryside next to a vineyard.  Lookers would use these huts as their accommodation whilst caring for their flocks.

Kent Design Studio were asked by our client to prepare a planning application to convert and extend to utilise the fantastic location of the hut, but also to preserve the building and save it from falling to ruin.

​

We set about taking the form of the existing hut and placing a modern interpretation by its side, linked by glass to preserve the form and appearance of the original building.  The building is now being run as a very successful holiday let, providing tourism to the local area.
